Please plan to arrive at the USNA Chapel at 3:30. The doors will close at exactly 4:00. They will not make exceptions - it is the Military.

Q + A
What are the most common thing to do in downtown Annapolis?
First and foremost, Annapolis is a walkable city. Between lovely Main Street and Maryland Avenue there could not be more restaurants, bars, and boutiques to explore. One of Laura's favorite past times is drinks at Federal House - a bar her and her friends spent many nights at. In fact, it was one of the first places she wanted to show Jay when he came into town.
Bottom line is you can get lost in then charm and loveliness of downtown. The best way to see a city is to explore it on your own agenda.
Are children welcome?
Children are not welcome to the wedding and reception.
How do we gain access to the US Naval Academy grounds?
Access to the Naval Academy grounds is limited.
Anyone with a locally prepared DBIDS or a DOD credential, including military retirees and dependents may drive onto USNA. All others will need to park outside the Academy and walk in through Gate 1. All visitors 18 years of age or older must have a valid picture ID. Visitors under the age of 18 who do not have a valid picture ID must be escorted by an adult with a valid form of identification. Please check the current security restrictions before planning a visit.
Please note that as a result of the REAL ID Act*, some state/territory IDs are not sufficient for access to the Academy. Please check the Current Status of States/Territories to see if your state or territory's ID is compliant with the REAL ID Act. Drivers' licenses and state IDs from states that aren't compliant must be accompanied by an acceptable second form of ID (SSN Card, Certified Copy of a Birth Certificate, U.S. Citizen ID Card, etc.). Please refer to the list of acceptable forms of ID.
The following items are prohibited from being brought aboard the USNA gates: weapons/knives, bags larger than a typical purse (e.g. duffle bags, backpacks, large camera bags), coolers, boxes, mace, or anything considered a threat by a screener. Keep in mind you will walk through a metal detector.
What is the location for access to the US Naval Academy Grounds?
Simply google "Gate 1 US Naval Academy". This is the only location where civilians can can gain access.
What will the weather be like?
June in Annapolis has an average high of 83 and an average low of 67. In the summer afternoon rainstorms are common but typically blow through quick. We recommend bringing an umbrella in case of rain.
What is the dress code?
Black-tie preferred. We ask that men wear a tuxedo or a dark suit and tie and women wear an evening gown or midi or knee-length dress. The bridal party will be wearing light/ice blue - ladies please refrain from that color.
If you are in the Military and you desire to wear your uniform, please make sure you wear the equivalent military dress.
